    The illegitimate detention of Humanity 1 has been lifted! The civil court in Crotone cited “the apparent injustice of the measure issued” as the reason for the preliminary, positive decision in our fast-track appeal.

    The Italian authorities assign a closer port, Crotone, for the disembarkation of survivors.

    Following a distress call reported by Seabird 2, our crew is able to rescue 77 people from distress at sea. During the rescue, the so-called Libyan Coast Guard fires live bullets, causing people to end up in the water and at least one person to drown.

    Humanity 1 departs from Syracuse, Italy. The crew will complete their trainings at sea.
